The Busan Fireworks Festival is this Saturday, Nov 7, 2026 (Sat), over Gwangalli Beach, and online ticket sales close Friday afternoon. Here's the honest answer to the ticket question, where people watch if they don't have a seat, and how to get to each viewing area without spending your evening stuck in the crowd.

SHORT ANSWER
- A ticket is only for the paid R and S seats on Gwangalli Beach. Book on NOL World by Fri, Nov 6, 17:00 KST.
- No seat? People watch from the beach outside the seating, Igidae, Dongbaekseom and hills around the bay. That's how it usually works, not an official "free zone" statement.
- The fireworks run 19:00–20:00 KST. Take Busan Metro Line 2: there's no parking near the venue.
QUICK FACTS
When: Sat, Nov 7, 2026 · main fireworks 19:00–20:00 KST (official timetable, subject to change)

Nearest station: Gwangan Station, Busan Metro Line 2, Exit 3

Do you need a ticket for the Busan Fireworks?

Only if you want a reserved seat on the sand right in front of Gwangan Bridge. The organizer sells two seat types there, and that's what the ticket buys you.

What we can't point you to is an official line that says "everything else is free." No organizer page we opened puts it that way. In practice, though, the paid seats are one block of the beach, and Busan's official tourism site, Visit Busan, lists parks, hills and other spots as places to watch without mentioning a ticket. Watching from outside the seating is how a lot of people see the show. Just treat it as common practice, not a promise.

So the real choice is between three kinds of evening. Here's how it breaks down:

Your situation

What to do

You want a reserved seat facing the bridge

Book an R or S seat on NOL World by Fri, Nov 6, 17:00 KST. Be in your seat by 18:00.

No seat, but you want to be close

Gwangalli Beach outside the paid zone, or Millak Waterside Park at the north end (Visit Busan). Come in the afternoon.

A side view is fine

Igidae or Dongbaekseom, both official festival areas. The bridge stretches across your view instead of facing you.

You'd rather see the whole skyline

Hwangnyeongsan Beacon Fire Station, Jangsan, Geumnyeonsan or Igidae Park (Visit Busan). Go up early and dress warm.

You want dinner with a view

A bridge-view restaurant, hotel room or yacht. Book directly and early, and ask what view you're getting.

How do you book Busan Fireworks tickets as a foreigner?

International visitors book on NOL World, the English site of the official ticket seller. The festival's English reservation page links straight to it. The listing is for international visitors only, and you'll go through a passport check when you book.

Key dates (KST)

  • NOL World / NOL Ticket: open now, closes Fri, Nov 6, 2026, 17:00

  • BNK Busan Bank branches: S seats, sold until close of business Thu, Nov 5, 2026. Mobile banking sales closed on Nov 1 (Sun).

  • Early bird and hotel packages: already closed

Early-bird seats sold out in under a minute. We couldn't confirm how many regular seats are left, so open the NOL World page and see what it shows for your seat type.

What the seats are

Both paid types sit on the beach in front of Hotel Aqua Palace and Homers Hotel:

  • R seats: a table plus chairs

  • S seats: chairs

For prices, check the official ticketing page. We leave them out here because they can change.

Rules to read before you pay

  • Up to 4 regular tickets per person.

  • Seat entry starts at 15:00. If you're not in your seat by 18:00, you can't get in and you can't get a refund. Plan your day around that.

  • Bookings made from Oct 12 are collected on site, not mailed. Someone else can pick them up for you with a copy of your ID and the booking confirmation.

  • Wheelchair seats are booked by phone only: 1544-1555.

  • The Busan resident discount needs an ID with a Busan address, so it won't apply to most visitors.

LOCAL TIP
Bring the same passport you booked with to the pickup booth, and screenshot your booking confirmation before you leave the hotel. Mobile data can get slow when the whole beach is online at once.

What time do the Busan Fireworks start?

The fireworks themselves start at 19:00, but the day starts much earlier. Here's the organizer's schedule for Nov 7 (Sat), which it says may change:

  • 13:00–18:00 Fireworks Street: busking, chalk art and booths

  • 16:00–16:10 Black Eagles air show

  • 18:00–18:50 Fireworks Prologue, including a lighting and message show on Gwangan Bridge

  • 18:50–19:00 Opening ceremony

  • 19:00–19:15 International guest fireworks (China)

  • 19:15–19:25 Intermission

  • 19:25–19:55 Busan Multi-Fireworks Show

  • 19:55–20:00 Curtain call fireworks

If you only care about one part, it's the 30-minute Busan show after the break. The organizer lists Niagara fireworks off the bridge and 25-inch shells.

Where can you watch the Busan Fireworks without a ticket?

Pick one spot and stay there. Once it's past 18:00, moving from one side of the bay to the other isn't realistic. These are the places named by the organizer or by Visit Busan.

Gwangalli Beach, outside the paid zone

You're as close as it gets without a seat, and it's the busiest place of the night. Come early, and bring something to sit on and a layer for the wind off the water.

Millak Waterside Park

This seaside park sits at the north end of Gwangalli. Visit Busan says many people come here for the fireworks and get a closer look than from the beach. It's about a 20-minute walk from Gwangan Station Exit 3. It isn't an official festival area, so don't expect seats or booths.

Igidae and Dongbaekseom

These are official festival areas, on either side of the bay. You see the show from the side instead of head-on, with the bridge running across the view.

Hills with a view

Visit Busan lists Hwangnyeongsan Beacon Fire Station, Jangsan, Geumnyeonsan and Igidae Park as viewing spots. You give up closeness and get the whole skyline. Go up early, wear proper shoes and bundle up, because it gets chilly at night.

Restaurants, hotels and boats

Bridge-view places along Gwangalli and yacht cruises fill up fast for this night. If you want one, book directly and early, and ask exactly what you'll see from your table or deck.

LOCAL TIP
Eat early, away from the beach. Restaurants with a view along Gwangalli are booked up for this night, so grab dinner near your hotel and bring snacks and water with you.

What should you bring to the Busan Fireworks?

It's November by the sea, and you'll be waiting outside for a few hours. Pack light, but don't skip these:

  • [ ] A warm jacket, hat and small blanket. Visit Busan warns it's chilly at night.

  • [ ] Something to sit on if you don't have a seat.

  • [ ] A power bank for maps, tickets and photos.

  • [ ] Your passport and a booking screenshot, if you booked a seat.

  • [ ] Snacks and water, so you don't have to give up your spot.

  • [ ] A light rain jacket. In a tight crowd it works better than an umbrella.

Two more things before you go. Pick a meeting point with your group in case you get split up, because phones can be slow in a crowd this size. And plan your exit: when the curtain call ends around 20:00, everyone leaves at once. Either slip out a few minutes early or wait and let the first wave go.

No parking near the venue. Road and station changes for the day: check the official traffic page.

Stations near the beach get packed before and after the show. Leave extra time, and follow staff directions at the exits.

LOCAL TIP
Don't drive. There's no parking near the venue, so take public transport. In 2025, roads around the beach were closed to traffic for the festival, so check the official traffic page on the day for this year's closures.

FAQ

Do I need a ticket to see the Busan Fireworks?

Only for the paid R and S seats on the beach in front of Gwangan Bridge. Many people watch from the rest of the beach, Igidae, Dongbaekseom or the hills. That's common practice, not an official rule. Those spots fill early, so come in the afternoon.

Can foreigners book tickets online?

Yes. International visitors book on NOL World, the English site of the official seller, until Nov 6, 2026 (Fri), 17:00 KST. The listing is for international visitors only and needs passport verification. You can buy up to four regular tickets per person, and bookings are collected on site.

What time should I arrive?

With a seat, entry opens at 15:00 and you must be seated by 18:00, or you lose your entry and your refund. Without a seat, aim for the afternoon. The beach fills up well before the 19:00 start, and getting in only gets slower the later you leave it.

What if it rains?

Check the official site. The organizer says the timetable may change, and updates go up on busanfireworks.com. Look again on the morning of Nov 7 (Sat), and check the NOL World page if you have a seat. In a tight crowd, a light rain jacket works better than an umbrella.
